Soar High Even if You Are Discouraged to the Core

What does it mean to soar high? The word soar means to ascend to a higher or more exalted level according to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary. Can we soar high when we find ourselves swallowed by the waves of this world, captured in its vanity? Is it possible to regain our strength and soar high when you feel discouraged? For the past few days, I felt the intense grip of discouragement on my life and obviously, it can happen to any one of us. But what shall we do when we are burdened by so many things? How do we tackle this? The only solution is – to keep focused on the track to Jesus, and if slightly deviated, steer it again to the right track. And if you follow this golden rule, you can soar high even if you are discouraged to the core.

Discontentment breeds discouragement

For me, it is a shame to say that discontentment still lurks in my flesh which breeds discouragement. And what did Paul say about contentment?

Philippians 4:12 “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.”

This is true contentment in Christ which raised great warriors like apostle Paul. How many of us have the same attitude as apostle Paul, to work for the Lord, neglecting all our luxuries. We all have fallen short of His glory and we are stumbling through the dark. And we won’t reach anywhere if we are still stagnant in our Christian life.

Overcoming Discouragement Through Faith

Apostle Paul could praise God in all the circumstances, and in all the difficult situations of his life. He never had a comfortable life, he never hard any luxuries, but he had the fire in his heart for the Lord. We are weak vessels, but through the power of the Holy God, we are born conquerors.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” [2 Corinthians 12:9]

Being a Christian is our chance to be a lamp in the lives of those in need. Let your lamp shine in the lives of those who are crying out for help. And Christianity is meeting the necessities, not the luxuries. Let your eyes look beyond and see through the eyes of the one who loved sinners like you and me.

Are you ready to walk the way of the cross which brought many to salvation? Jesus came for sinners, even for the worst. He never asked them “Why”? But He looked at them with compassion. But His words were sharp against those who considered themselves religious and showed hypocrisy. So, we need to examine ourselves, judge ourselves, and find out the real state of our heart? Is it a self-righteous one or is it a heart which is remorseful in the presence of God. Unless we share the hope in Jesus and the key to salvation to others, we will never get contented in this life. Because we all are made in His image, sealed in His spirit, and are destined to lead others to Christ, to be the lamps in their lives, and to be the salt of this earth.



A Beautiful Reminder!!

I came across this beautiful Christian song for children in our church and it resonated in my mind over and over. The lines are simple, and our Christian life should also be so simple and innocent like this, desiring just to be a sunbeam.

Jesus wants me for a sunbeam

To shine for Him each day

Waiting on Jesus

Only God can fill the void in our hearts, not the riches or the pleasures of this world. Sometimes, we fail to be thankful for all the goodness He blessed us with and ends up in being discontent. What is the outcome? We seek for more but finds nothing… We fight for more but earns nothing…

“So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.Β But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Mathew 6:31-33)

We have to put our trust in God alone, not on our wisdom, not on our understanding but willing to wait for His perfect time by being content, and trusting in His divine provisions.

A Small Tip For A Beautiful Life

  • Manage your time, work productively, always thanking Lord for His faithfulness.
  • Never be anxious for the future, but never forget to do your best now!
